SATURDAY, OCTOBER 11 , 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM AND SUNDAY, OCTOBER 12, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM – Jamesville Beach Park, 3992 Apulia Rd, Jamesville, NY 13078.
Jamesville Beach Park located at 3992 Apulia Rd., Jamesville, NY 13078 has changed a lot since Folksmarch was last there 17 years ago. On Saturday, October 11 and Sunday, October 12 we will meet at the Overlook Shelter for sign-in. Walking sticks suggested.
The park has added a huge white tent for gatherings (taken down now), a disc golf course, updated the small playground near the beach (beach is not open at this time of year), and added a huge off-leash dog park starting on the east edge of the developed part of the park. With luck, the leaves will be changing. The walk on grass and dirt trails starting out near the reservoir and along Butternut Creek will lead into the off-leash dog park trails, so be prepared to meet friendly dogs and people. There are a few short ups and downs where walking sticks would help. If it rains on or before the FM, be prepared for some muddy patches. For those who prefer smooth walking, there are paved and dirt roads available.

SATURDAY, APRIL 12 , 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM AND SUNDAY, APRIL 13, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM. Oxbow Falls County Park at 6919 Oxbow Rd., Canastota, NY 13032.
The Park “is located on the northern edge of the Helderberg Escarpment, a geological formation that dates back over 350-400 million years to the Devonian period. The escarpment forms a steep cliff of over 100 ft creating 3 waterfalls within the park and a beautiful view of the lowlands to the north” (from the NYFalls website). Each of the falls are about 10 ft long but follow a long, very pretty, downhill course with water tumbling over rocks and around twists. One of the falls can be seen from the Disc Golf area and all three from the upper entrance to the park.

SATURDAY, MARCH 8, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM AND SUNDAY, MARCH 9, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM. Lucius Gleason Mansion, 314 Second Street, Liverpool, NY 13088.
CNY Folksmarch will combine a village walk, a historical walking tour, and the walking path at Onondaga Lake Park during our March Folksmarch.
The Greater Liverpool Chamber of Commerce has been working with us to make Liverpool the place to visit on Saturday, March 8th or Sunday, March 9th. Our walkers always enjoy a village walk because it gives them achance to really see a community instead of just driving through it on theway to somewhere else.
The Chamber is located in the Lucius Gleason Mansion, which will be our registration location. The mansion is located at 314 Second Street, Liverpool, NY 13088. Walkers may enter the mansion at the front door facing Second Street, or use the ramp entrance facing Sycamore Street. Check out the Liverpool Village Walking Tour or Oswego Street Walking Tour.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM AND SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM, Beaver Lake Nature Center, 8477 East Mud Lake Road, Baldwinsville, NY 13027.
A favorite spot for CNY Folksmarch is Beaver Lake Nature Center -partly because it is one of the few winter locations where we can find well-groomed trails to walk, but mainly because of the natural beauty and pleasant surroundings. The dense tree coverage, even with significant snowfall in the area, usually means that BLNC has at least 3 walkable trails. This is also a great location for those who bring their own cross-country skis. Another option might be to bring snowshoes or rent a pair for $5 per hour. The usual Folksmarch rates will be in place, but we are pleased that BLNC management has again graciously offered to waive the parking fee for Folksmarchers.
