Stone Quarry Hill Art Park, Cazenovia: June 12 & 13

Enjoy the Stone Quarry Hill Art Park on June 12 & 13, 2021 located at 3883 Stone Quarry Road, Cazenovia, NY 13035 where you and your dog can walk on the wide, mowed grassy paths surrounding acres of open areas sprinkled with imaginative, often very large artistic sculptures and vistas of Madison County landscape, as well as narrow forest trails. Just remember your animal must be on a leash and you pick up any droppings.

Stone Quarry Hill Art Park was founded by artist Dorothy Riester and her husband Bob. Dorothy and Bob purchased and began shaping the property in the early 1960s. The Art Park was established in 1991 as a means of gifting the land for public use. The Art Park is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, open to the public 365 days a year from dawn to dusk. The site consists of 104 acres of meadows, forest and ponds with 4 miles of hiking trails and a rich collection of outdoor sculpture. The Dorothy Riester House and Studio are listed on the National Register of Historic Places for their architectural and artistic significance. (Thanks to the Art Park for permission to use this description.)

We will meet at the covered area between the bathrooms and one of the brown wood buildings at the top of the hill. As you come up the long entrance you will pass buildings on your left, but you continue to the parking areas just ahead of you. Then you walk back on the other side of the buildings to where our tables are set up. The two restrooms have composting toilets, are large, airy and comfortable with sinks but the water is not for drinking, so please bring your own water.

The outside art exhibits do change periodically and since the Dorothy Riester house is open by appointment only, and the Studio and Art Gallery will be closed on the weekend, you will have a good reason to come back to this CNY gem!
