MARCH 12th 9:00 AM-NOON & MARCH 13th 1:00-3:00 PM – Cazenovia is one of those special CNY Villages that is fun to explore anytime of the year. Of course, the lake makes for an inviting summer destination, but with so many historical buildings, both residential and commercial, we are sure to enjoy an interesting Folksmarch even during the late winter.
Our walk will take us through some of the residential streets with several Victorian era homes, around Cazenovia College and down the main street with shops, eateries, pubs and, of course, a view of Cazenovia Lake. For much of Caz, it’s as if time has stood still. For instance, the hotel and restaurant named after John Lincklaen, the founder of the Village, was built in 1835. The exterior of The Lincklaen House looks exactly the same as it did back then.
The Folksmarch sign-in will be at the Cazenovia Chamber of Commerce office, 95 Albany St., Suite C. (Even though the address states Albany St., the actual entrance to the building is behind the business that faces on Albany St. #24 on the map.) The office is a small room but has enough space for our sign-in table, a restroom, and a large display of visitor’s information about the area. Anna-Marie Neuland, who proudly works at the Chamber of Commerce, will be happy to answer any questions you may have about Cazenovia.
